IT APPLICATIONS MANAGER
£60,000 | Woolwich, London | Monday - Thursday on-site
Friday is WFH and a half day

We are recruiting an IT Applications Manager to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of business-critical applications, with particular responsibility for managing the third-party vendors behind them.
Reporting directly to the Head of Digital, you'll sit at the intersection of technology, suppliers and the wider organisation - ensuring applications are well managed, vendors deliver what they promise, and the software estate continues to evolve with the needs of the business.
THE ROLE
You'll take ownership of a portfolio of SaaS and business applications across their lifecycle, working closely with users, stakeholders and external suppliers.

- Managing relationships with software vendors and third-party suppliers
- Holding suppliers accountable for performance, service quality and delivery
- Managing application roadmaps, upgrades, releases and lifecycle activities
- Acting as an escalation point for application and supplier issues
- Working with stakeholders to understand requirements and improve existing systems
- Identifying opportunities to rationalise and improve the application portfolio
- Supporting the evaluation, selection and implementation of new software
- Maintaining appropriate application, security and compliance documentation
- Coordinating user support, guidance and training
- Contributing to software procurement, supplier selection and budget management
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Vendor and supplier management is a key part of this position.
- Experience managing multiple business applications or software products
- At least one year's experience managing third-party technology/software suppliers
- Good experience working with SaaS applications
- Strong stakeholder and relationship-management skills
- Confidence challenging suppliers and managing escalations when required
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- The ability to manage multiple applications, suppliers and priorities simultaneously
- Experience with software development lifecycles, software procurement, supplier selection or budget management would be beneficial but isn't essential.

WHY CONSIDER THIS ROLE
You'll work directly with the Head of Digital and have genuine ownership of both the organisation's application portfolio and the supplier relationships behind it.
You'll have the opportunity to influence how applications are selected, managed and improved, while playing a key role in the organisation's wider digital capability.
Salary: £60,000
Location: Greenwich, London
Working pattern: 4 days per week onsite, with Friday afternoon working from home
