IT Asset Administrator

Start Date: ASAP
Inside IR35 | £300 per day
Location: London | Hybrid - minimum four days per week in the office

We’re partnering with an established organisation to appoint an organised and detail-focused IT Asset Administrator.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong IT asset-management, administration or stock-control experience to take ownership of the complete lifecycle of the organisation’s technology equipment.

You’ll maintain accurate asset records, coordinate equipment for starters and leavers, support procurement and ensure all IT assets are handled securely and in line with relevant policies and data-protection requirements.

The Opportunity

As IT Asset Administrator, you’ll be responsible for maintaining clear and accurate records across a broad range of IT equipment, including laptops, desktops, monitors, mobile devices and network peripherals.

You’ll manage assets throughout their lifecycle, from procurement and receipt through to deployment, reassignment, repair, replacement and secure disposal.

This is a hands-on position requiring excellent organisation, strong attention to detail and the confidence to take ownership of asset-management processes from beginning to end.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll support the effective management and control of the organisation’s IT assets by:

  • Maintaining accurate records of laptops, desktops, monitors, mobile devices, network peripherals and other IT equipment.
  • Managing the complete IT asset lifecycle, including procurement, receipt, deployment, reassignment, repair, replacement and disposal.
  • Tracking asset ownership, location, serial numbers, purchase details, warranty information and lifecycle dates.
  • Coordinating the allocation and return of IT equipment for new starters, leavers and internal transfers.
  • Conducting regular physical and system-based asset audits.
  • Reconciling asset records and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Taking responsibility for the organisation of the IT build room, asset storeroom and surrounding areas.
  • Ensuring all IT equipment and storage areas remain tidy, secure and operational.
  • Supporting procurement activities, including obtaining quotations, coordinating with suppliers and managing asset deliveries.
  • Ensuring returned and retired equipment is securely wiped and disposed of in accordance with company policies and data-protection requirements.
  • Producing regular asset-management reports for financial, compliance and audit purposes.
  • Ensuring IT asset-management procedures comply with relevant company policies, security standards and regulatory requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
