Job Title: IT Asset & Licence Manager

Location: Doncaster or Leeds | Hybrid, 3 days office / 2 days remote

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, dependent on experience

You'll act as the single source of truth for IT assets and software licensing across the organisation, working closely with Finance, Cyber Security and IT Operations. IT Asset & Licence Manager Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of IT hardware, software, licences, cloud services and contracts, from procurement through to secure disposal
  • Manage the full software licence pipeline, including purchasing, supplier engagement, goods receipting and licence entitlement tracking
  • Maintain accurate asset registers, CMDB records, contract data and supplier documentation to ensure a reliable single source of truth
  • Conduct regular audits and reconciliations across asset and licence data, identifying and remediating unlicensed, unmanaged or non-compliant assets
  • Produce reporting to support cost optimisation, renewal planning, lifecycle forecasting and CapEx/OpEx decision-making
  • Establish and continuously improve ITAM and SAM standards, processes and controls across the business

IT Asset & Licence Manager Requirements

  • Proven experience in IT Asset Management (ITAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), licence compliance or a closely related discipline, ideally 5-6 years
  • Asset and licence management must have been a dedicated, core part of your previous role, not a secondary responsibility
  • Strong working knowledge of CMDB, ITSM tools, licence audit and reconciliation processes, and ITIL-aligned service management
  • Sound understanding of software licensing, supplier and contract management, and compliance obligations
  • Excellent analytical skills with a methodical, evidence-based approach to governance and control
  • Full UK driving licence, with willingness to travel occasionally to other UK sites
