The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Internal Audit function is a global organization, with world-wide coverage. As IT Internal Audit Manager, you will undertake organizationally strategic and complex IT/ Cybersecurity and SAP audits in a challenging environment, and provide significant input to the design and delivery of ongoing improvement initiatives. In addition, you may be involved in special reviews and assignments following Top Management’s requests.

This position can be fulfilled completely remotely in Europe (subject to be able to comply with Hitachi Energy work-from-home rules), we are prioritizing skills and experience over physical work location.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Develop and maintain IT and Cybersecurity audit universe and risk control matrix
  • Conduct global IT and Cybersecurity risk assessments and propose inputs to the audit plan to address the identified risks
  • Work together with the IT/ Cybersecurity/ SAP communities, internal audit, ERM and internal control teams to ensure the IT/ Cybersecurity/ SAP risk assessment, processes, and controls framework are robust and effective
  • Lead IT/ Cybersecurity/ SAP audits, special request audits, advisory engagements, IT/ Cybersecurity/SAP process reviews and follow-up audits
  • Develop individual IT/ Cybersecurity/ SAP audit plans and planning documentation specific to engagement needs. Manage all phases of IT/ Cybersecurity/ SAP internal audit engagements, including coordination with functional management personnel, and outsourced audit personnel.
  • Recognize different culture and business practices in various locations and partner with the business process owners to recommended optimal business solutions to strengthen controls and increase efficiency
  • Take a leading role in the development of new/amended IT/ Cybersecurity/ SAP audit processes, specific innovative ways of working and new ideas for reviewing risk and control issues, AI adoption
  • Provide support for compliance efforts, including technical knowledge support and managing testing of controls
  • Maintain and improve technical abilities and general business awareness by keeping abreast of Information Technology, IT Security and Cybersecurity, and internal audit standards and procedures

Your background

  • Work Attitude: You are a hands-on, pro-active and seasoned IT Audit Manager, with very high-level of integrity, can-do attitude, able to take full ownership, responsibility and independently deliver assigned engagements and other tasks timely and with quality
  • Continuous Improvement: You have a continuous improvement mindset, able to formulate lessons learned from assigned engagement and propose improvements, as well as give and receive constructive feedback
  • Leadership Qualities: You are able to lead engagement teams and assigned projects, and are capable of identifying and resolving issues
  • Stakeholders Relationships Management: You have experience interacting with Senior Management and a proven ability in building strong relationships across organizations globally.
  • Cultural Awareness: You have experience of working with people from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating respect for and understanding of cultural differences
  • Communication Skills: You have excellent written and spoken English, and highly developed written and verbal communication skills to motivate, influence and negotiate, with the ability to challenge at a senior level when necessary
  • Team Focus: You are a Team Player, willing to be flexible to support the Team, if needed, in tasks execution and knowledge sharing
  • Education: You have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technologies, Business Administration, Finance, Management or Engineering
  • Professional Experience: You have minimum 10 years of previous experience in external/internal IT audit
  • Professional Competence: You are Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). Other professional certifications such as CISM, CISSP, CRISC, or CIA would be considered a plus.
  • Compliance Competence: You have proven knowledge of common IT/ Cybersecurity and AI standards such as COBIT, ITIL, NIST, ISO/IEC 27000, EU AI Act
  • Technical Competence: You have excellent MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI). Knowledge of PowerAutomate and SAP skills would be considered a plus.
  • Data Literacy: You are data literate, able to populate, read, understand and analyze data from various sources, and arrive at meaningful conclusions.
  • Business Awareness: Understanding the Energy Industry would be considered a plus.
  • Mobility: Willingness to travel globally (30%) to perform or manage audits
