IT Audit Manager – Corporate Audit

Location: Kingston

Work-Level: WL2B

The mission of Corporate Audit is to deliver independent assurance to the Board and executive management of Unilever, ensuring that all critical risks impacting the achievement of Unilever’s strategic objectives are thoroughly understood and effectively managed. Corporate Audit operates as a global function, comprising approximately 50 professionals under the direction of Unilever’s Chief Auditor.

The Information Technology Audit team is dedicated to assessing and mitigating key risks in areas such as Cyber Security, Technology Availability, and Data Privacy, as well as those arising from Unilever’s ongoing digital transformation. The team conducts comprehensive audits of global IT operations, processes, and controls, encompassing both internal functions and external service providers.

Corporate Audit is recognised as a premier environment for leadership development and professional growth, particularly for high-potential managers. Assignments within the function offer unique opportunities to build cross-functional IT expertise, gain exposure to diverse aspects of internal IT and external partnerships, and develop a deep understanding of IT operations, risk management, compliance, and control frameworks. The role will also provide exposure to audits covering cyber security, technology platforms, digital transformation and emerging technologies, including cloud and artificial intelligence solutions.

Key Responsibilities

As an Audit Manager within Corporate Audit, you will join a high-performing, multi-functional, and multi-cultural team responsible for auditing IT controls, systems, and processes. Core responsibilities include:

  • Leveraging advanced knowledge of IT processes and practices to enhance audit quality.
  • Identifying and evaluating critical IT risks, and formulating actionable recommendations for control improvements.
  • Effectively communicating and advocating for enhancements, including engagement with senior stakeholders.
  • Exercising sound judgment to determine the appropriate level of IT control in alignment with Unilever’s risk appetite.
  • Executing audits in a timely and comprehensive manner, including:
    • Preparing work papers to assess control design and operational effectiveness.
    • Conducting audit interviews, walkthroughs, observations, and system tests; analysing relevant documents, reports, and data.
    • Ensuring work quality is sufficient to support re-performance.
    • Drafting memos of findings and agreed actions with auditees, and contributing to formal audit reports.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Recruitment Fraud

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.

How is Unilever tackling this?

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.

What can I do?

If you become aware of potential recruitment fraud, spot fake Unilever recruitment adverts or fake LinkedIn profiles, report them via Una Live Chat.

Unilever does not accept responsibility or liability for any candidates who are financially impacted by recruitment fraud. Your vigilance is key!
