IT / AV Engineers Port Talbot

Location: Port Talbot, Wales

Contract: 2 months initially, with the possibility of extension to a 3rd month

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Salary/Rate: Dependent on experience

Start: Immediate / Imminent

Positions: 3 Engineers

Driving Licence: Required

Own Transport: Essential

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT / AV Engineers to provide onsite services across Port Talbot and Llanelli.

This is an inside IR35 contract opportunity, initially for two months, with the possibility of extending for a further month.

The successful engineers will provide onsite AV installation, IT hardware support, endpoint and server deployment, as well as general workplace IT services.

Due to the requirement to travel between client sites, a full driving licence and own means of transport are essential.

Key Responsibilities

AV & IT Deployment

  • Install, configure and support AV equipment and related IT hardware.
  • Deploy endpoints, workstations and servers.
  • Carry out hardware installations, moves, additions and changes (IMAC).
  • Validate service requests and prepare equipment prior to deployment.
  • Coordinate equipment logistics, installation and collection.
  • Provide onsite technical support to end users.

Workplace IT Support

  • Diagnose and resolve workplace IT incidents.
  • Restore services quickly in line with agreed priorities and SLAs.
  • Escalate and coordinate issues with third-party suppliers where required.
  • Maintain accurate service records and ensure incidents are properly closed.
  • Provide onsite support to priority/VIP users where required.
  • Support walk-in / desk-based IT services, including device handouts and returns.
  • Assist with hardware orders, equipment logistics and printer replacements.

Problem Management

  • Identify, investigate and document recurring workplace IT issues.
  • Log, prioritise and manage problems through to resolution.
  • Work with internal teams and third parties to identify root causes.
  • Implement corrective actions to help prevent recurring incidents.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and service records.

  • Maintain accurate IT asset and configuration records.
  • Manage equipment installations, returns, replacements and disposals.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels and support equipment logistics.
  • Ensure all asset activity complies with policies, procedures and systems.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in an IT Engineer / Desktop Support / Infrastructure / AV Engineer role.
  • Experience with AV equipment installation and support.
  • Experience deploying and supporting endpoints and/or servers.
  • Strong troubleshooting and incident-resolution skills.
  • Experience with IMAC activities and IT asset management.
  • Good customer-facing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently onsite and as part of a wider service team.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Own vehicle/transport is essential.
  • Flexibility to travel between Newport, Port Talbot and Llanelli.
