HOURS: Monday – Friday - 37 Hours
CONTRACT: FTC - December 2027
LOCATION: Manchester/Leeds/York
Purpose of the Job
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support business and technology transformation across the organisation.
You will analyse business needs, processes and requirements, working closely with stakeholders, Project Managers, Solution Architects and technology teams to define solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.
You will play a key role in shaping business transformation and change, helping stakeholders move from current ways of working to improved future-state processes, capabilities and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Business Analysis activities across projects, programmes and transformation initiatives.
- Elicit, analyse and document functional and non-functional requirements.
- Map As-Is and To-Be processes and identify opportunities for improvement, automation and transformation.
- Support the development of business cases, including costs, benefits, risks and expected outcomes.
- Work with Solution Architects and IT teams to define and assess solution options.
- Develop requirements, use cases, epics, user stories and other BA artefacts.
- Ensure requirements are traceable through to solutions and delivered outcomes.
- Support project initiation and ensure appropriate analysis is completed to enable successful delivery.
- Identify business impacts, risks, dependencies and opportunities associated with change.
- Use data and insight to support decision-making and identify improvement opportunities.
- Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior stakeholders.
- Ensure BA deliverables meet agreed standards, principles and governance.
Transformation Experience
You will have demonstrable experience of working on business transformation and change initiatives, with the ability to:
- Define and document future-state processes and ways of working.
- Analyse the impact of change across people, process, technology and data.
- Challenge existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support the adoption of new technology, processes and operating models.
- Connect transformation activity to measurable business benefits and outcomes.
- Work effectively across complex and changing organisational environments.

Key Stakeholder Relationships
You will work closely with:
- Business stakeholders – understanding needs, outcomes and impacts and building engagement.
- Project Managers – planning analysis activities and supporting delivery.
- Solution Architects – ensuring requirements and solutions are aligned.
- IT and technology teams – translating business needs into effective technology solutions.
- Third-party providers – ensuring requirements and outcomes are understood and delivered.
- Head of Business Analysis – working in line with BA standards and principles.

- Projects and transformation initiatives deliver their intended business outcomes.
- Requirements and processes are clearly understood and documented.
- Business cases clearly demonstrate costs, benefits and value.
- Solutions effectively address business needs.

- Strong relationships are maintained across business and technology teams.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Proven experience in a Business Analyst or similar role.
- Demonstrable experience of business transformation and change.
- Experience of complex business and technology environments.
- Strong requirements elicitation and process analysis skills.
- Experience developing As-Is/To-Be processes and business cases.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- A Level and/or degree educated.
- BCS, IIBA or equivalent Business Analysis qualification, or significant equivalent experience.
Desirable
- Experience of digital or technology-enabled transformation.
- Experience using data and insight to support business decisions.
- Agile, project management, change or transformation experience.
