Our client is an established European energy and commodities business with an international trading operation and a growing presence in the LNG market. The business is continuing to develop its technology capabilities and is investing in systems and processes that support its trading activities.
We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to support and enhance the company's trading technology environment, with a particular focus on its ETRM platform, EOS, and the wider systems that support the end-to-end LNG and commodity trading lifecycle.
Working closely with teams across Trading, Operations, Risk, Finance and other commercial functions, you will be responsible for analysing business requirements, designing effective technology solutions, coordinating testing and supporting the successful delivery of system changes and improvements. This is a highly visible role that will suit someone with a strong understanding of commodity trading businesses, excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate complex business requirements into practical system solutions.

- Act as a key liaison between business users, internal IT teams and external technology providers.
- Gather, analyse and document business requirements across Trading, Operations, Risk and Finance.
- Support and enhance the EOS ETRM platform and associated business processes.
- Lead system change initiatives, releases, upgrades, testing activities and continuous improvement projects.
- Plan, coordinate and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring appropriate test coverage and successful business sign-off.
- Analyse and support integrations between EOS and associated business systems, including:
- Logistics and scheduling systems
- Optimisation and planning tools
- Reporting and market data platforms
- Treasury and finance systems
- Develop a strong understanding of the end-to-end commodity trading lifecycle and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls and data quality.
- Document business processes, system workflows, functional specifications and support procedures.
- Create, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot automated jobs, interfaces, scripts and system workflows.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure technology solutions continue to meet evolving business requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
