IT Business Partner – Insurance
Location: London, (50% office-based)
Salary: circa £100,000 + bonus + excellent benefits
We're partnering with a leading, fast-growing insurance group who are looking for an IT Business Partner for their UK retail business. This is a newly created role at the centre of significant growth and change. You'll be the strategic bridge between the business and technology, reporting into the IT function and working directly with the C-suite.
The Role
You'll be the first point of contact between the business and IT, deciding where technology investment goes and making sure it delivers a return. You'll build the role from the ground up, so you'll need to be as comfortable in a boardroom as in a branch.
- Build and own the technology roadmap for the business, prioritising demand by value and ROI.
- Develop investment cases and track the benefits long after go-live.
- Integrate the systems and processes of newly acquired businesses into the group.
- Spot opportunities to improve processes through technology, including AI and automation.
- Be the trusted voice for technology in senior leadership and governance forums.
- Travel across UK offices and branches to understand how the business really works, with regular time with senior leaders in London.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You
You'll bring a background in insurance, whether that's with an insurer, broker, MGA, or insurance-focused consultancy, and an understanding of how retail insurance businesses operate. Beyond that, we're interested in what you've done, not your job title. You might currently be an IT Business Partner, Business Relationship Manager, or a senior Business Analyst or Programme Manager with genuine executive exposure.
