IT & Business Services Manager
The IT & Business Services Manager is responsible for the management, development, security, and continuous improvement of the company's IT infrastructure, business systems, and digital services.
The role provides operational and strategic leadership across ERP systems, business applications, cyber security, data reporting, infrastructure, user support, and technology-enabled business improvement. Working closely with all departments, the postholder will ensure systems are secure, reliable, and aligned to business objectives while driving efficiencies through technology, process improvement, and data-driven decision making.
Responsibilities
Business Systems & ERP Management
- Act as the business owner and administrator for Epicor ERP and related business systems.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, security roles, and system access controls.
- Develop and maintain system customisations, dashboards, reports, workflows, and data structures.
- Lead ERP upgrades, testing, deployment, and user acceptance activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, liaising with external providers where required.
- Support business functions in maximising the effectiveness of ERP solutions.
- Ensure data integrity, system availability, and operational performance.
- Identify opportunities to automate business processes and improve system utilisation.
IT Infrastructure & Service Delivery
- Manage day-to-day IT operations across the business.
- Provide first and second-line support for hardware, software, and business applications.
- Maintain IT assets including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, displays, and associated equipment.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities, ensuring appropriate provisioning of equipment and system access.
- Manage relationships with group IT services and third-party providers.
- Support network, server, and cloud-based infrastructure environments.
- Maintain asset registers and technology lifecycle planning.
- Ensure effective disaster recovery and business continuity arrangements are maintained.

Cyber Security & Information Governance
- Maintain and continuously improve the organisation's cyber security posture.
- Administer access control systems, CCTV, alarms, and related security technologies.
- Manage cyber security compliance requirements for customers including Rolls-Royce, GE Aerospace, and other regulated sectors.
- Support security audits, assessments, and supplier compliance reviews.
- Manage SSL certificates, domain security, and authentication controls.
- Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
- Investigate security incidents and coordinate remediation activities.
Business Intelligence, Reporting & Data Management
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
- Deliver management information and performance reporting across all departments.
- Support reporting requirements from ERP and other business systems.
- Promote data accuracy, governance, and reporting best practice.
- Work with stakeholders to identify reporting needs and develop actionable insights.
- Support business planning through meaningful management information and analytics.
Business Applications & Digital Solutions
- Manage internally developed and bespoke business applications.
- Support quality, compliance, maintenance, calibration, engineering, and HR systems.
- Ensure business applications remain reliable, secure, and fit for purpose.
- Identify opportunities for digitalisation and process automation.
- Coordinate enhancements, upgrades, and supplier-led developments.
- Maintain documentation and user guidance for business systems.

Continuous Improvement & Project Management
- Lead technology-enabled continuous improvement initiatives.
- Deliver projects that improve business efficiency, productivity, and user experience.
- Work collaboratively with departmental leaders to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support manufacturing, warehousing, quality, and finance process improvements.
- Develop business cases and project plans for system enhancements and IT investments.
- Monitor project delivery, risks, and benefits realisation.
Supplier & Contract Management
- Manage relationships with software vendors, service providers, and technology partners.
- Oversee licensing compliance for Microsoft, Adobe, Autodesk, Vericut, Q-Pulse, and other business-critical applications.
- Manage support contracts, renewals, and subscriptions.
- Monitor supplier performance against agreed service levels.
- Support procurement activities relating to IT equipment and services.
Budget & Governance
- Prepare and manage the annual IT budget.
- Monitor expenditure and ensure value for money from technology investments.
- Develop and maintain IT governance processes and controls.
- Produce regular reports on performance, risks, projects, and improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with organisational and customer-specific requirements.
