IT & Business Systems Manager

As our businesses continue to grow and evolve, we are excited to be recruiting an IT & Business Systems Manager to support Rowen & Wren and the wider Rowen Partnership’s group of companies. This is a pivotal role that will drive the development, optimisation and integration of our business systems, helping to improve efficiency, support growth, and ensure our teams have the tools they need to succeed.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about technology, process improvements and delivering innovative solutions that enhance the way our businesses operate. Both part-time and full-time applicants will be considered.

Job Overview

The IT & Business Systems Manager will act as internal owner of business technology, systems and IT governance ensuring that business systems, processes, integrations, infrastructure and outsourced IT support services effectively support the current operations and evolving needs of the business. This role will report to the Managing Director.

Working with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, this person will identify business needs, review and optimise business processes, assess technology options, manage key technology partners and turn agreed priorities into well managed projects.

The role combines business analysis, process improvement, project coordination, technical engagement, change management, IT management and governance and requires the ability to work effectively with both technical specialists and non-technical teams. The role will also provide oversight of outsourced IT service providers, ensuring the secure, reliable and compliant delivery of technology services across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain coherent business systems:

    • Take overall ownership of the portfolio of systems that support the business
    • Ensure systems remain appropriate to the evolving needs and scale of the business
    • Ensure systems are integrated effectively so data flows reliably between them
    • Maintain appropriate documentation to mitigate risk
  • Support business process improvements:

    • Work with departmental leadership to improve operational processes across retail, ecommerce, customer service, logistics and finance
    • Ensure technology simplifies workflows rather than adds complexity
    • Introduce automation where it improves efficiency and accuracy
    • Drive AI adoption to support business activities identifying opportunities, evaluating tools, running pilots, and establishing sensible governance

  • Own and manage the technology roadmap:

    • Capture opportunities to use technology to better support the business
    • Assess potential solutions, costs, benefits and risks
    • Sequence initiatives based on impact, dependencies and resource requirements
    • Maintain and communicate an agreed technology roadmap to align expectations
  • Deliver projects against the roadmap:

    • Work with stakeholders and partners to define requirements and translate priorities into structured projects with clear outcomes, timelines and success measures
    • Lead technology projects from planning through implementation testing, change management, user adoption and post-launch review
    • Coordinate internal teams and external suppliers to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and with minimal disruption to business operations
    • Establish proportionate project governance, reporting and documentation standards
    • Monitor budgets, timelines and project progress for the leadership team
    • Measure the impact of any changes
