About the Role

We are looking for an IT Commercial & Compliance Officer to join the Digital & Technology team and support the effective financial, commercial and compliance management of IT services. You will play a key role in monitoring IT CAPEX and OPEX spend, managing budgets, purchase orders, invoices, contracts, renewals, licensing and supplier records. You will also provide accurate cost reporting, forecasting and management information, helping identify opportunities to improve value for money while ensuring IT expenditure, procurement activity and contract governance remain well controlled and compliant. The role will also support audit and assurance activities, working closely with Finance, Procurement, Risk & Assurance, IT teams and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

IT Spend & Financial Management

  • Monitor CAPEX and OPEX spend against agreed budgets.
  • Track licensing, renewals, cloud and AI-related costs.
  • Produce cost reports, forecasts and financial analysis.
  • Review invoices and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Manage purchase orders, payments, accruals and reconciliations.
  • Support budget planning and year-end processes.

Commercial & Supplier Management

  • Administer IT contracts, renewals, licences and commercial records.
  • Support procurement activity, contract negotiations and variations.
  • Monitor supplier performance against KPIs and SLAs.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency and deliver value for money.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure IT commercial activity complies with procurement regulations, financial policies and internal controls.
  • Support and coordinate compliance audits covering areas such as account management, IT assets and cyber security.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready records and support assurance activities.
  • Identify and escalate commercial, financial and compliance risks.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with Finance, Procurement, Risk & Assurance, IT teams and suppliers.
  • Act as a key point of contact for commercial, financial and compliance queries.
  • Provide clear management information to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of IT commercial processes and governance.

About You

You will have experience in a commercial, financial, procurement or IT support environment, with a strong understanding of budgets, reporting and supplier management. We're looking for:

  • Experience monitoring IT budgets, CAPEX/OPEX, forecasts and expenditure.
  • Experience with invoices, purchase orders, payments and reconciliations.
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting contracts, suppliers, licensing or renewals.
  • Knowledge of procurement, financial controls, audit and contract governance.
  • Understanding of IT services, software licensing, cloud costs and value for money.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Relevant qualifications or training in finance, procurement, contract management, supplier management, business administration or IT commercial support would be advantageous.
