IT Consultant
£500 a day (Outside IR35)
6 Weeks (4 days a week)
Fully Remote
Currently looking for an IT Consultant to work with a CFO and Director of Transformation on a short-term consultancy piece. Applicants should ideally have worked in a Head of IT role previously and have good knowledge of Cyber Security, M365, Network Architecture and 3rd Party Supplier Management.
Duties include:
- Reviewing Service arrangements and contractual obligations. Assess whether expected outcomes, service levels, KPIs and responsibilities are being met. Provide a gap analysis and recommendations to the CFOO, then lead and coordinate implementation of agreed improvements.
- Reviewing current Cyber Essentials findings, actions, and associated risks. Identify gaps, provide recommendations to the CFOO, and lead the coordination and delivery of agreed remediation activities through to completion.
- Review Microsoft 365 survey findings and associated improvement opportunities. Identify gaps, provide recommendations to the CFOO, and lead the coordination and delivery of agreed improvement actions through to completion.
- Act as the day-to-day internal technology lead and primary point of contact for technology-related matters.
- Manage relationships with outsourced technology providers, coordinate resolution of technology issues and requests, provide advice and recommendations to the CFOO, and ensure appropriate oversight of ongoing technology services and risks.
- Conduct a comprehensive security baseline assessment following completion of the identified Microsoft 365 remediation activities to validate the organisation's overall security posture and identify any residual gaps against recognised best practice.
- Design and initiate the transition of the existing network architecture towards a Zero Trust security model and modern baseline security requirements.
- Support the definition of the business transformation portfolio, by providing insight and assessment of opportunities, requirements, dependencies, and delivery considerations.

Previous Experience
- Previous experience working in a Head of IT role.
- Excellent 3rd party supplier management experience.
- Strong working background of Cybersecurity policies.
- Strong working knowledge of M365.
- Excellent Stakeholder Management skills.
- Strong Gap Analysis & Critical thinking skills.
- Public Sector background preferred but not essential.
- Business Transformation experience.
- Prince II preferred but not essential.
