IT Contract Manager

Working Location
Gentofte, Copenhagen, Denmark

Residential
Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day

Fixed-term: 1st September 2026 to 31st December 2026

Role Objective / Success Criteria / KPI

Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of IT contracts, covering drafting, negotiation, execution, renewal and termination.

  • Ensure IT agreements align with company policies, commercial objectives, risk appetite, cybersecurity standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive commercial value, contractual compliance and effective risk management across the IT supplier portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review and negotiate IT agreements covering SaaS, software licences, cloud services, managed services, hardware and consulting.
  • Manage both project-based contracts and recurring SaaS and software agreements.
  • Manage contractual claims and support the resolution of commercial or supplier disputes.
  • Partner with IT, Legal, Finance and business stakeholders to structure appropriate commercial and contractual terms.
  • Drive commercial optimisation through cost control, value realisation and benchmarking.
  • Identify and mitigate contractual, operational, data privacy and information security risks.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, including GDPR, together with IP rights, liability frameworks and cybersecurity clauses.
  • Provide contract advisory support to IT stakeholders and project managers.

Tasks

  • Support IT sourcing initiatives and negotiate agreements with global technology vendors.
  • Manage major IT vendors, including hyperscalers, SaaS providers, software licensors and implementation partners.
  • Plan and negotiate contract renewals and additional purchases for IT vendors.
  • Lead renewal strategies and renegotiations to optimise value and mitigate auto-renewal risks.
  • Maintain the contract repository and ensure compliance with contract management best practices.
  • Apply knowledge of SaaS, subscription, software licensing and cloud-consumption commercial models during negotiations.
  • Use contract lifecycle management systems to maintain accurate, accessible and auditable contract records.

  • Negotiated and executed IT contracts aligned with business, legal, commercial and security requirements.
  • Contract renewal and renegotiation strategies supporting cost control and value optimisation.
  • Documented risk assessments and appropriate contractual mitigations.
  • Accurate and compliant contract repository records.
  • Commercial benchmarking and value-realisation recommendations.
  • Contract advisory support for IT stakeholders, project managers and senior decision-makers.

  • Commercial evaluations, cost-control analyses and benchmarking records.

Decision Authority / Responsibility

  • Lead commercial and contractual negotiations within the assigned IT contract portfolio.
  • Recommend contractual risk mitigations while balancing legal protection with commercial pragmatism.
  • Challenge proposed terms, renewal positions and supplier claims where these do not protect value or align with policy.
  • Escalate material contractual, operational, privacy, cybersecurity, IP or liability risks to the appropriate stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, IT or a related field.
  • Experience: Three to seven or more years of experience in IT contract management, IT procurement, vendor management or software licensing.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of IT commercial models, including SaaS, subscription, licensing and cloud-consumption models.
  • Proven experience negotiating IT agreements with global vendors.
  • Knowledge of IT risk areas including data protection, cybersecurity, IP rights and liability frameworks.
  • Strong commercial acumen, analytical ability and experience balancing risk mitigation with commercial pragmatism.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with IT, Legal, Finance and senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management systems.
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience working within international contracting environments.
