The Brand

They are one of the UK's fastest-growing outdoor retail names — a business built by adventurers, for adventurers, with a global footprint spanning hundreds of stores and a rapidly scaling e-commerce operation. Driven by a genuine passion for getting people outside, we've grown from a single store into an international retailer while staying true to the entrepreneurial, no-nonsense spirit that built us. We move fast, we back our people, and we're serious about building the infrastructure that keeps a global retail operation running without a hitch.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to shape the technical backbone of a business operating at genuine scale — hundreds of stores, multiple markets, and a technology estate that's evolving fast. As Core Systems Engineer, you won't be stuck in a ticket queue; you'll be leading the modernization of identity, infrastructure, and disaster recovery across a hybrid environment, with real autonomy to identify what's broken and fix it. Think identity platform redesigns, resilience testing that actually matters when things go wrong, and infrastructure projects with your name on them — all within a small, high-trust engineering team where your input directly shapes the direction of the estate.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who We're Looking For

We want someone who gets genuinely excited by solving hard infrastructure problems — not just keeping the lights on, but actively hunting down inefficiency and driving change. You'll have 5+ years in core infrastructure or systems engineering, deep comfort with identity platforms (Active Directory, Entra ID, or similar), hands-on disaster recovery and fail over experience, and a methodical, security-first mindset. If you thrive with ownership, enjoy documentation as much as delivery, and want to be a trusted voice in a lean, high-impact team — this is built for you.
