Director of Technology Solutions
Edinburgh / Hybrid
£60,000 - £70,000 + Long-Term Incentive + Bonus + Pension + 28 Days Holiday + Development
Are you an experienced Technology Director or senior software leader looking to build and lead a high-performing technology function within an ambitious and growing organisation?
Brilliant opportunity on offer to take ownership of technology strategy, product delivery and team development while helping shape the future direction of a business undergoing an exciting period of growth and transformation.
This established organisation provides specialist services and technology-led solutions to customers operating across a range of complex environments. Due to continued investment and expansion, they are now looking for a Director of Technology Solutions to develop their technical capability and build a high-performing software engineering team.
In this role, you will take responsibility for technology strategy, software delivery and operational performance. You will introduce effective development frameworks and processes while ensuring technology products maintain high standards of security, scalability, reliability and quality.
You will also work closely with senior leaders, customers and external stakeholders, helping align technology investment with commercial objectives, customer requirements and the wider growth plans of the business.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced technology leader looking to take ownership of a developing technology function and play a key role in the long-term strategic and commercial direction of an ambitious organisation.
The Role
- Defining and delivering the technology strategy in line with customer, operational and commercial objectives
- Building, mentoring and developing high-performing software engineering and development teams
- Leading software delivery, process improvement and the adoption of modern development practices
- Overseeing software architecture, cloud infrastructure, databases, DevOps, cybersecurity and CI/CD processes
- Acting as the senior technology representative with customers, partners and key stakeholders
- Supporting technology investment, resource planning, budgeting and wider business-growth initiatives
- Establishing effective governance around quality, compliance, risk management and intellectual property
The Person
- Previous experience in a Technology Director, Head of Technology, CTO or senior software leadership position
- At least five years' experience across software development, technology delivery and team leadership
- Strong understanding of software architecture, cloud platforms, DevOps, cybersecurity and modern engineering practices
- Experience leading organisational change, process improvement or agile transformation initiatives
- Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
- Strong commercial awareness with experience aligning technology decisions with customer and business requirements
- Comfortable operating within a growing, evolving or technically complex organisation
