We are seeking an experienced IT Director – Customer Solutions to lead on the IT delivery and governance elements on strategic Defence and Public Sector logistics and supply chain bids, tenders, and complex IT transformation opportunities.
The role will provide leadership and direction regarding IT products and services to the Sales and Business Development community across the region, ensuring alignment with Sector, Product, and Solution Design strategies. You will play a key role in driving regional growth and customer retention initiatives and leading IT Business Development services.
✅WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Drive Performance: Partner closely with Sales, Business Development, Business Units, IT Product, and Solution Design teams to understand commercial priorities, account strategies, and growth objectives, translating these into effective IT engagement and solution strategies.
- Develop Strategic Direction: Define, govern, and communicate IT strategies for key pursuits and customer accounts, ensuring clear solution direction, architectural alignment, and a compelling value proposition.
- Foster Innovation: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior internal stakeholders and strategic customers, identifying opportunities where technology can create competitive differentiation and business value.
- Shape Growth Opportunities: Plan, prioritise, and manage the forward pipeline of IT business development activity across key customers and pursuits, ensuring resources are focused on the highest-value growth opportunities.
- Lead with Purpose: Direct and coordinate IT involvement in strategic customer bids, tenders, and commercial opportunities, ensuring technology solutions are differentiated, customer-focused, and aligned to business objectives.
- Ensure Governance and Quality: Oversee the allocation and governance of work across the Customer Solutions team for specific bids. Provide peer review, quality assurance, and constructive challenge for opportunity deliverables, ensuring consistency, compliance, and excellence in solution development.

✅WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Logistics and/or Supply Chain industry experience is essential.
- Prior knowledge of working on logistics bids and tenders for the Defence or Public Sector focusing on the IT elements of the submission.
- Strong customer engagement skills with the ability to influence internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers and present information in a clear and concise way.
- Proven ability to manage a broad range of tasks and challenges, working to tight deadlines and making informed decisions under pressure.
- Resilience and prepared to challenge colleagues, suppliers, and customers as appropriate.
- Experience delivering or supporting large-scale (£30m+), multi-site, multi-application projects or tenders.
- Ability to interpret and apply IT strategies, standards, and policies effectively.
