About The Role

We are currently seeking a skilled IT Engineer to join a dynamic and expanding infrastructure team within a well-established Scottish organization. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a hybrid environment based in Aberdeen, with a focus on supporting and enhancing the company’s IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing both project-based and operational support across various technological platforms, contributing to the organization’s ongoing digital transformation initiatives. As part of the team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of Microsoft tools and cloud technologies, including Azure, Intune, and VMware, enabling you to develop your skills and advance your career. Qualifications

  • Proven experience in systems and infrastructure support roles, demonstrating a strong understanding of Microsoft and virtualization technologies.
  • Solid background in Windows Server environments, VMware, and Office 365.
  • Experience managing Active Directory and implementing security measures such as antivirus and internet security software.
  • Industry certifications related to Microsoft or cloud technologies are advantageous.
  • Proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide second and third-line support for IT systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance across all business units.
  • Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Support virtualization infrastructure using VMware, ensuring efficient resource utilization and stability.
  • Administer Office 365 services, including email, collaboration tools, and user management.
  • Maintain and support Active Directory, including user account management, group policies, and security configurations.
  • Implement and monitor security protocols using antivirus and internet security software to protect organizational assets.
  • Assist with the deployment and management of Microsoft Intune and Azure cloud services to facilitate remote device management and cloud infrastructure.
  • Participate in ongoing projects to improve IT infrastructure, including upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and support activities to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues promptly and efficiently.
