The Opportunity

Luxfer MEL Technologies is looking for a motivated IT Engineer to join our IT team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a global manufacturing business, gaining exposure to Microsoft 365, cyber security, networking, endpoint management, infrastructure, and enterprise systems.

Working alongside experienced IT professionals, you'll support colleagues across both our UK and US operations while contributing to projects that improve technology, services, and user experience.

You’ll provide first and second line support across both office and manufacturing environments, helping ensure our IT services are reliable, secure, and compliant. Alongside day-to-day support, you’ll contribute to continuous improvement of our IT services, processes, and user experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing on-site and remote IT support to users across the business.
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, and device issues.
  • Supporting Microsoft 365, Windows, mobile, and endpoint technologies.
  • Managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Installing, configuring, and deploying IT equipment.
  • Supporting endpoint management and cyber security platforms.
  • Maintaining technical documentation and asset records.
  • Contributing to IT service improvements and technology projects.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with the right mindset as well as technical capability. You don’t need to tick every box on day one — we value curiosity, integrity, and a willingness to learn.

Essential Requirements

Essential requirements include:

  • NVQ Level 3 or higher qualification in an IT-related discipline (or equivalent qualification).
  • GCSE English and Mathematics (Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting Windows and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Experience providing customer-focused IT support.
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • A professional and security-conscious approach when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to obtain any visas, security clearances, or travel documentation required for occasional business travel to the United States.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
