About The Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated IT Engineer to join a well-established educational institution based in Reading. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an IT professional to contribute to the smooth operation of the school's technical infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to staff and students, ensuring that all systems, hardware, and network components operate efficiently and securely. This position offers a competitive salary range of 28,906 to 33,136 per annum and the chance to work within a friendly and collaborative IT team dedicated to maintaining high standards of technology service delivery.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in providing IT support within a fast-paced environment. A strong understanding of troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues is essential. Candidates should have comprehensive knowledge of Windows-based devices and applications, along with excellent problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills and a customer-focused approach are vital to ensure clear and professional support to end-users. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or similar qualifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-line IT support to staff and students, resolving technical issues promptly and efficiently.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity problems to minimize downtime and disruption.
- Install, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and other IT equipment, ensuring they are up-to-date and secure.
- Support and manage Microsoft 365 applications, Active Directory, and user account configurations to facilitate seamless access and security.
- Assist with the maintenance and security of the network infrastructure, including updates, patches, and troubleshooting network issues.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of IT projects and upgrades to enhance the school's technological capabilities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of support activities, hardware inventories, and system configurations.
- Provide training and guidance to staff and students on the effective use of IT resources and applications.
