About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated IT Engineer to join a well-established educational institution based in Reading. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic IT team responsible for maintaining and supporting the school's technological infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the school's systems, equipment, and network, thereby supporting the institution's mission to provide a high-quality educational environment. The position offers a competitive salary ranging from 28,906 to 33,136 per annum, along with a comprehensive benefits package. The ideal candidate should possess a proactive approach to troubleshooting, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional IT support in a school setting.

- Prior experience providing IT support within a similar environment.
- Solid understanding of troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Strong knowledge of Windows-based devices and applications.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and user account management.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical staff and students.
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or similar qualifications are advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-line IT support to staff and students, ensuring prompt resolution of technical issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity problems to minimize downtime.
- Install, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and other IT equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Support and manage Microsoft 365 applications, Active Directory, and user accounts to facilitate seamless user access and security.
- Assist with network infrastructure management, including security protocols, updates, and troubleshooting network issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of support requests, resolutions, and system configurations.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in IT support.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to implement new systems and upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to school activities.
