We’re looking for an IT Specialist to review and improve our Microsoft environment, phones and devices, helping Kainé work more efficiently and securely as we grow.

What difference will you make?

Your input will help Kainé

  • Reduce the risk of data loss or security breaches
  • Improve how staff and volunteers communicate and share information
  • Save time by reducing duplication, confusion and manual work
  • Build more professional and scalable functionality
  • Support future growth

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone with experience working in IT, digital systems or technical support, ideally with hands-on knowledge of Microsoft 365.

You should be comfortable reviewing existing setups, spotting risks and explaining technical issues in clear, non-technical language and implementing improvements on a small budget.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Hybrid

What will you be doing?

Kainé is growing quickly and delivering more activity across Leicester than ever before. As we expand our team, partnerships and programmes, our digital systems need to keep up. We currently use a Microsoft-based environment alongside a mix of laptops, desktops, phones and cloud tools, but our setup has developed organically rather than strategically.

We are looking for an IT Specialist volunteer to help us take stock of what we have, identify risks and inefficiencies, and recommend a clear, practical way forward.

This role will focus on

  • Reviewing our Microsoft 365 environment (including email, Teams, SharePoint and user access)
  • Looking at how staff and volunteers use laptops, phones and shared devices
  • Identifying security, backup and data protection risks
  • Advising on best-practice setup for a small but growing charity
  • Creating simple guidance or documentation so the team can manage systems confidently

You won’t be expected to provide day-to-day IT support (if you don’t want to!). Instead, this role is about helping us understand our current setup, help us identify an annual budget to improve our set up and put structure in place.

This is a flexible role that can be delivered through a mixture of remote work and a small number of in-person meetings with the team.
