About The Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Engineer for a short-term contract lasting 8 weeks. This hands-on position is ideal for an individual with a strong technical background in IT equipment deployment and configuration. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the preparation, configuration, and deployment of IT hardware for our clients, ensuring all equipment meets quality standards and client specifications. The role involves working closely with our technical and service teams to facilitate smooth operations, maintain accurate records, and uphold organizational standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional looking to contribute their expertise in a fast-paced environment, gaining valuable experience in IT asset management, logistics, and customer service.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess relevant experience and skills, including:
- Previous experience in an IT Engineer, IT Support, Deployment Engineer, or similar technical role.
- Proficiency in setting up, configuring, and deploying Windows-based desktops, laptops, and end-user devices.
- Strong understanding of PC hardware, peripherals, and networking fundamentals.
- Experience using CRM or Service Management systems to record and manage work activities accurately.
- Experience in managing stock, inventory, or IT asset management processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- A methodical and analytical approach to troubleshooting and quality assurance.
- Strong communication and customer service skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
- A full UK driving license would be advantageous, facilitating travel to various locations as required.

Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the IT Engineer include:
- Setting up and configuring new IT equipment to meet specific client requirements and standards.
- Installing and configuring end-user devices such as desktops, laptops, monitors, and peripherals.
- Performing comprehensive quality assurance checks on all equipment prior to delivery to ensure functionality and quality standards are met.
- Logging, updating, and managing all work activities within the company's CRM system, ensuring compliance with established Service Desk procedures.
- Managing and maintaining the off-site workshop and storage facilities, including receiving and dispatching customer equipment, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring secure storage and proper handling of all equipment.
- Preparing equipment for shipment and coordinating deliveries to clients, ensuring timely and accurate dispatch.
- Maintaining high standards of organization and cleanliness within the workshop environment.
- Collaborating with the Service Desk and technical teams to ensure efficient service delivery and issue resolution.
- Adhering to company processes, documentation standards, and health and safety protocols to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
