Field Engineer / 2nd Line Support Engineer
Location: Buckinghamshire (Aylesbury Area)
Position Type: Hybrid & Field-Based
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000, depending on experience.
Our client, a growing Managed Services Provider (MSP), is looking to recruit a Field Engineer to support a diverse customer base across Buckinghamshire and the surrounding areas.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on IT professional who enjoys a mix of remote support and on-site customer engagement. Initially, the role will be split between 2nd Line Service Desk support and field-based engineering work, with the expectation that the position will become increasingly customer-site focused as the organisation continues to expand its presence across the region.
Working as part of a busy MSP support team, you will provide a combination of remote and on-site technical support to customers across Buckinghamshire, including Aylesbury, Thame, Milton Keynes and surrounding areas, with travel to London once per month.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
