OKWIN is an international IT services and consulting company with offices in Portugal, Angola and Mozambique, delivering solutions across IT operations, infrastructure and managed services.
We are currently looking for an experienced IT Field Technician / IT Contractor to support a multinational industrial client across several UK manufacturing sites.
The assignment may be particularly suited to freelancers, independent contractors or IT professionals available for short-term projects who are looking for additional contracting opportunities.
Depending on project requirements, there may be opportunities for additional assignments, holiday coverage or a longer-term/permanent engagement following the initial period.
Contract Details
- Type: Freelance / Contractor assignment
- Schedule: Full-time, on-site
- Start: Immediate availability preferred
- Location: Blackburn area, UK
- Regular travel to additional customer sites
- Mileage and travel expenses covered according to company policy
- Overtime paid separately
- Potential for further assignments depending on project requirements

Main activity around Blackburn, with regular travel to:
- Leyland
- Thurmaston
- Flint
- Bridgwater
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on, on-site IT support to end users
- Troubleshoot hardware, software and connectivity issues
- Support Windows environments, printers and mobile devices
- Assist with Office 365 and Azure-related activities
- Troubleshoot basic networking issues
- Coordinate with remote international IT teams
- Travel between customer sites when required
- Ensure timely resolution of incidents and requests
Technical Requirements
- Previous experience in IT Field Support / Desktop Support / IT Infrastructure
- Strong troubleshooting and customer-facing skills
- Good knowledge of:
- Windows OS
- Office 365
- Azure environments
- Networking fundamentals
- Hardware and peripheral troubleshooting
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle required
- Availability for the initial 3-week assignment
