About Triland Metals
Triland Metals Limited (TML) is a leading international commodities broker, specialising in base and precious metals derivative markets and risk management. We are a long-standing member of the London Metal Exchange (LME) and London Bullion Market Association (LBMA). Headquartered in London, with regional offices in Dubai, New York, Singapore, and Tokyo, Triland has been serving clients for over 50 years. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation, one of Japan's largest global trading and investment groups. TML is authorised and regulated by the FCA.
Our customers come from across the metals supply chain. From mining companies who are most at risk when prices fall, to consumers of metal who are adversely affected by high prices. Our role is to understand the specific needs of each customer and help them to mitigate the impact of price fluctuations so they can plan their cash flow with certainty.
The Role
We are seeking an ambitious graduate to join our 9-month IT Graduate Internship in our London office. This rigorous programme provides direct exposure to our technology function through 3-month rotations across Cyber Security and Projects, enabling you to develop a broad understanding of our IT operations before building a long-term career within the IT team.
From day one, graduates will take on real responsibility, contribute to meaningful projects, and work closely with experienced professionals who will support their development through mentorship and hands-on learning. As part of the programme, graduates will also study for and pass the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment's (CISI) Certificate in Technology in Financial Services. This industry-recognised professional qualification will provide graduates with a strong foundation in the financial services sector, helping them develop a deeper understanding of our industry, markets, and business operations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The position is well suited to someone who is comfortable working independently, can manage their own workload effectively, and enjoys taking initiative.
