IT Helpdesk Administrator
Diodes Zetex Semiconductors Limited are a semiconductor manufacturing site. Due to progression within the team, we have an exciting new opportunity to join the IT team as an IT Helpdesk Administrator.
The role provides IT and technical support in line with the company’s business requirements. This role is to strengthen and add resource to the Client and Help Desk support assisting the IT Team in ensuring the provision of timely and robust solutions to various stakeholders, to provide good customer service and support to all stakeholders, to establish and maintain clear communications with external suppliers and internal departments, to facilitate and improve support and the development of new functionality in-line with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Working on projects and initiatives, both local and global in scope alongside other IT functions.
- Building laptops/PCs for use in the plant.
- Replacing/resolving failed peripherals across the plant.
- Resolving issues with usage of software, primarily Microsoft products.
- Installing/managing non-standard software e.g., JMP, APF.
- Managing telephones (mobile phones, and desk phones).
- Performing desk moves.
- On and off boarding of staff.
- Maintaining inventory of IT equipment and software.
- Developing knowledge of the Company’s business processes.
- Developing knowledge of the capabilities of the software available.
- Delivering application solutions that perform in line with their system service levels.
- Taking ownership of issues related to Infrastructure solutions.
- Providing support to the user base, resolving issues and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Defining and developing new functionality in line with business needs.

Ideal Candidates
- Degree or equivalent experience in IT or equivalent discipline.
- Proficient in English – written & spoken.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems.
- Excellent written and documentation skills.
- Experience of Computer Networking, Experience of Microsoft 365 environment, Experience of Legacy OS (XP, Windows 7), Experience of an ERP system, and/or Experience of working in an ITIL environment (desirable).
- An understanding of Manufacturing or Supply Chain environment (desirable).
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, developing strong working relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Highly organized approach, accurate with a high level of attention to detail.
- Proactive and forward-thinking mentality. Striving for improvement and upholding quality and standards.
- Offering support and guidance to team members so they can be upskilled and gain knowledge.
- Prepared to work flexibly in line with business need.
