What to Expect

We are recruiting for Industrial Placement Interns to join our fantastic Customer Experience Solutions team within IT & Digital at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, Surrey. As an Intern, you will gain hands-on experience across the Customer Experience Solutions team while developing your skills in a world-class, high-performance automotive environment.

This is a 12-month full-time Industrial Placement designed to build your technical capabilities, commercial awareness, and confidence working across a fast-paced technology function.

What You'll Do

During your Industrial Placement, you’ll spend the year embedded in one of our core specialist teams, gaining meaningful, project-based experience and contributing to key operational and strategic objectives.

  • Support the design, enhancement and delivery of digital products and services that improve the customer experience.
  • Help gather, analyse and document business and customer requirements to inform product and feature development.
  • Assist with customer journey mapping to identify opportunities to improve interactions across digital and physical touchpoints.
  • Work with business stakeholders, designers, developers and technology teams to help deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Analyse customer feedback, behavioural data and business insights to support decision-making and prioritisation.
  • Participate in workshops, testing activities and demonstrations throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support the creation of presentations, reports and communications for project and leadership stakeholders.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations that enhance customer engagement, satisfaction and business value.
  • Gain exposure to emerging technologies, digital platforms and data-driven product development approaches.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across IT & Digital, Commercial, Marketing, Sales and Customer Services teams.

What You'll Bring

  • Currently studying towards a degree in Business, Digital Technology, Marketing, Computer Science, Data Analytics, User Experience, or a related discipline.
  • A genuine interest in technology, digital innovation and customer experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret information and identify insights.
  • Confidence working with data and presenting findings in a clear and meaningful way.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft 365 tools.
  • A willingness to learn new technologies, systems and ways of working.
  • Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to managing work.
