IT Infrastructure Analyst – Disaster Recovery (Level 3)
Location: London – 2/3 days per week onsite
Contract: 6 months, with possible extension
Rate: inside IR35
Working Pattern: Monday–Friday, with occasional out-of-hours/weekend work required to support Disaster Recovery and resilience testing
About the Role
Pontoon is currently seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Analyst – Disaster Recovery (Level 3) to join the Technology Resilience & Recovery (TRR) function. This role will provide operational support across IT Disaster Recovery, technology resilience, recovery testing and governance. You will work closely with infrastructure, application, service, Cyber, Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Operational Resilience teams to ensure that recovery plans are effective, tested and maintained to a high standard.
The role is particularly important as the organisation continues to strengthen its operational resilience, regulatory compliance and audit readiness. TRR supported 17 recovery testing events across EMEA in 2025, with approximately 19 expected in 2026. Increasing demand and resource constraints have created a need for additional expertise to support testing, reporting, remediation tracking and documentation.
Why This Role Exists
The Technology Resilience & Recovery function is currently experiencing increased demand alongside resource constraints. Key challenges include:
- Increasing requirements relating to Operational Resilience, BCM, Cyber and regulatory frameworks.
- Manual and delayed testing, reporting and documentation activities.
- A need to improve audit readiness and control evidence.
- Increasing requirements to demonstrate resilience maturity across critical business services.
- A growing number of recovery testing exercises requiring effective coordination, evidence collection and remediation tracking.
This role will help improve the efficiency, quality and consistency of these activities while supporting the organisation's wider resilience objectives.
Key Responsibilities
IT Recovery Testing & Disaster Recovery
- Assist in the planning and coordination of IT recovery and scenario-based testing exercises.
- Support the execution of Disaster Recovery and resilience tests, including occasional weekend/out-of-hours activities.
- Work with infrastructure, application and service teams to validate recovery plans and capabilities.
- Track test progress, capture outcomes and ensure actions are accurately documented.
- Collect, organise and maintain validation evidence following recovery exercises.
- Identify issues, risks and gaps arising from testing and support their remediation.
Documentation & Runbook Management
- Maintain and update IT recovery plans, procedures, technical documentation and operational runbooks.
- Review existing Disaster Recovery documentation and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support the consolidation of fragmented documentation into standardised formats.
- Ensure documentation is accurate, current, version-controlled and readily accessible during disruption scenarios.
- Support the development and maintenance of a centralised repository of recovery artefacts.
- Ensure technical documentation reflects current infrastructure and recovery processes.

Reporting & Metrics
- Produce post-test and post-incident reports using established templates and standards.
- Track remediation actions, risks and issues arising from recovery tests and incidents.
- Support the development and maintenance of IT recovery KPIs and KRIs.
- Assist with trend analysis across incidents, recovery exercises and test outcomes.
- Ensure reporting is accurate, timely and supported by appropriate evidence.
Risk, Controls & Governance
- Support the maintenance of IT resilience controls and associated compliance evidence.
- Assist with periodic reviews of TRR-owned controls, including IT Service Continuity (ITSC) controls.
- Track remediation actions through Problem Management, risk or other relevant systems.
- Support audit and regulatory information requests.
- Ensure activities are completed in accordance with relevant governance, risk and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to improving the organisation's overall Disaster Recovery and Operational Resilience maturity.
Scenario & Methodology Development
- Support the development and maintenance of IT recovery test scenarios and scenario catalogues.
- Assist with documenting Disaster Recovery testing methodologies and processes.
- Contribute to improving the realism, relevance and coverage of recovery scenarios.
- Support continuous improvement of testing approaches based on lessons learned from exercises and incidents.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with IT Infrastructure, Application, Service, BCM, Operational Resilience and Cyber teams.
- Coordinate stakeholder inputs required for testing, reporting and remediation.
- Track cross-team deliverables, actions and dependencies.
- Confidently follow up with stakeholders to obtain updates and ensure actions are completed within agreed timescales.
- Communicate test outcomes, issues and requirements clearly to relevant stakeholders.
Essential Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong IT Infrastructure operations/support experience, ideally at Level 3.
- A broad understanding of IT infrastructure, including networking and databases.
- Practical experience supporting Disaster Recovery and/or Operational Resilience activities.
- Experience creating, reviewing and maintaining technical documentation, runbooks and recovery procedures.
- Strong documentation, administration and organisational skills.
- Experience coordinating activities across multiple IT and technology teams.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately capture evidence, actions and outcomes.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with and chase stakeholders for updates.
- The ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines in a structured environment.
- A proactive approach to identifying documentation, process and resilience improvements.

Desirable Experience
- Exposure to Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity or Technology Resilience.
- Experience working within a regulated or highly governed environment.
- Familiarity with COBIT and/or ISO standards.
- Experience using ServiceNow or similar IT service/risk management platforms.
- Experience supporting IT audits, control testing or regulatory requests.
- Understanding of Operational Resilience frameworks and critical business services.

Additional Requirements
- Flexibility to support occasional out-of-hours and weekend Disaster Recovery/resilience testing.
- Ability to work 2–3 days per week onsite in London.
- Commitment to governance, risk management and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple technology and business functions.
