This is a primarily hands-off role focused on solution design, alignment, and decision-making across infrastructure, networks, security, enterprise applications, and operational technology.
You will lead solution definition for complex initiatives, working with internal teams and external suppliers to produce clear, deliverable designs ready for implementation.
This role is ideal for a senior engineer or technical lead looking to step into architecture, working across legacy manufacturing systems and modern platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end solution design across infrastructure, networks, security, and OT
- Translate business requirements into clear, structured technical designs (HLDs, LLDs, diagrams)
- Drive alignment across technical teams to agree a single solution direction
- Own architectural decisions, ensuring solutions are practical, supportable, and aligned to standards
- Engage internal teams and external suppliers to shape and validate solutions
- Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and constraints early in the design process
- Produce clear, structured design documentation to support delivery and ongoing support
- Provide architectural oversight during delivery to ensure alignment with agreed designs

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
