IT Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Basingstoke, UK - fully onsite
Type: 12 month contract

About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Digital Core Infrastructure Engineer to join a global technology team supporting critical business operations and infrastructure services. This position plays a key role in delivering reliable IT infrastructure services while supporting quality, compliance, and digital transformation initiatives across the organisation.

You will act as a trusted technology partner, ensuring stable and effective infrastructure services while helping drive adoption of innovative technologies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and coordinate day-to-day IT infrastructure services
  • Support desktop, mobility, networking, telecoms, and collaboration technologies
  • Manage relationships with external IT support providers and vendors
  • Support meeting room technology and virtual event delivery
  • Coordinate infrastructure projects and local technology initiatives
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and service disruptions
  • Support IT quality, compliance, and audit activities
  • Assist with access reviews and security-related processes
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives
  • Promote adoption of new technologies including AI-enabled productivity solutions

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting IT infrastructure environments
  • Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook, and collaboration technologies
  • Experience coordinating third-party vendors and support providers
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
