IT Infrastructure Support Engineer

Oxford | Office-Based | Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits

My client is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive IT Infrastructure Support Engineer to join their growing IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, combining hands-on IT support with infrastructure administration in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Working as part of a collaborative IT function, you'll play a key role in ensuring the business's IT systems, networks and end-user services remain secure, reliable and highly available.

The Role

This is a broad technical position where you'll provide first and second-line support whilst taking ownership of core IT infrastructure and day-to-day operational activities. You'll be the go-to person for resolving technical issues, supporting colleagues across the business and helping improve the efficiency, reliability and security of the IT environment.

You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to infrastructure improvements, documentation and automation as the organisation continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-line IT support to users across the business.
  • Manage, prioritise and resolve IT support tickets, escalating where appropriate.
  • Configure and deploy laptops, desktops and mobile devices for new starters.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including user accounts and permissions.
  • Maintain and support core IT infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment and office technology.
  • Administer user accounts across Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory and Google Workspace.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot networking issues including VPN connectivity, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VLANs.
  • Maintain IT asset registers, hardware inventory and documentation.
  • Support backups, security updates and system maintenance.
  • Help improve IT processes, documentation and day-to-day operational efficiency.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
