About the Role
We're looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Field Engineer who enjoys getting out on customer sites, delivering infrastructure projects and solving real technical problems.
This is not a desk-based support role. You'll be the engineer customers rely on to deliver Windows Server deployments, network upgrades, Microsoft 365 projects and infrastructure migrations across schools and commercial organisations.

What you'll be doing...
You'll spend most of your time visiting customer sites across London and the South East delivering project work including:
- Windows Server installations, upgrades and migrations
- Microsoft 365 deployments and administration
- Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP
- Server installations (Dell/HPE)
- Hyper-V and ESXi environments
- Firewall installations and configuration (SonicWall, Fortinet, WatchGuard, DrayTek etc.)
- Network infrastructure including switches, VLANs and wireless
- Customer upgrades, office moves and infrastructure refreshes
- Acting as the lead engineer on site and building strong relationships with customers

We're looking for someone with...
Essential
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a field-based IT Engineer role
- MSP or project delivery experience preferred
- Strong Windows Server experience (2012-2025)
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy
- Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, OneDrive)
- Hyper-V or VMware ESXi
- Enterprise server hardware (Dell, HPE or similar)
- Firewall configuration experience
- Good networking knowledge including TCP/IP, VLANs and Wi-Fi
- Excellent customer-facing skills
- Full UK driving licence

Nice to have
- Education sector experience
- Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA or other vendor certifications
- VoIP or Unified Communications experience
This role probably isn't for you if...
- You've only worked on a Service Desk or in remote support
- You haven't delivered infrastructure projects on customer sites
- You're not confident leading installations and speaking directly with customers
