The Role

The purpose of this role is to lead the IT infrastructure operations & projects (DevOps) for EOUK by managing the infrastructure support & enhancement Services across the company locations.

  • Own the strategic and operational management of infrastructure managed service providers (MSPs), ensuring contractual obligations, SLAs, OLAs and service performance targets are met.
  • Establish and monitor infrastructure governance metrics, including system availability, patch compliance, backup success, capacity utilisation and incident resolution performance.
  • Lead regular service reviews and collaborative planning sessions with MSPs to drive continual improvement and proactive management of technology changes.
  • Own the lifecycle, performance and roadmap for data centre, cloud, network and end-user infrastructure services across IT and OT environments.
  • Maintain accurate infrastructure asset inventories and CMDB records in line with ITIL best practices.
  • Ensure infrastructure resilience through effective backup, disaster recovery and high-availability solutions, supported by regular testing and validation.
  • Define and maintain infrastructure documentation standards, ensuring services are clearly documented, reviewed and kept up to date.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance for infrastructure projects, change initiatives and operational improvements, balancing cost, security and business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, reference architectures and design principles, conducting technical assurance reviews for internally delivered and third-party solutions.
  • Own the infrastructure and network technology roadmap, including lifecycle management, capacity planning, technology refreshes and service transitions.
  • Lead service planning activities, assessing business demand, operational risk, cost considerations and future technology requirements.
  • Oversee infrastructure security controls, including vulnerability management, patching, privileged access management and endpoint protection.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, governance and cybersecurity requirements, including GDPR, Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus.
  • Partner with Information Security teams to support risk management, security incident response and continuous improvement of security controls.
  • Manage infrastructure budgets, supplier costs, contract renewals and licensing arrangements to optimise value and service delivery.
  • Monitor service consumption and cost trends, identifying opportunities for efficiency, optimisation and cost reduction.

About You

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree-level education (or equivalent), preferably certified in ITIL with certifications in CCNA, Azure.
  • Extensive background in IT Infrastructure Management within large-scale manufacturing organisations (Energy, Manufacturing, or Oil & Gas), including high-availability cloud and on-premise environments and enterprise licensing.
  • Expertise in network management, cloud hosting (Azure, AWS), in-house data centres, and designing secure IT & OT networks.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Office 365, Active Directory, Defender / Sentinel) and cloud computing (Cloud Architect certification desirable).
  • Experience architecting infrastructure for ERPs, SaaS, and custom applications, with exposure to Process Control Networks (OT) highly desirable.
  • Deep understanding of data security, access governance, and policy development, with a proactive approach to risk remediation.
  • Skilled in leading teams, managing vendors, and delivering innovative IT solutions to optimise asset use.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to critical incidents.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of explaining complex IT concepts clearly and building strong cross-functional relationships.
