Job Overview
At LKQ Europe, technology is critical to keeping our business moving. We’re looking for an IT infrastructure systems engineer to join our European infrastructure operations team, where you’ll play a key role in supporting, maintaining, and continuously improving our server and virtualization infrastructure across multiple European locations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on infrastructure professional who enjoys solving technical challenges, working across Windows and Linux environments, and developing their expertise in enterprise infrastructure technologies.

Key Responsibilities
As an IT infrastructure systems engineer, you’ll support the day-to-day operation of our infrastructure environment while contributing to both business-as-usual activities and exciting infrastructure projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Configuring, installing, and maintaining server and virtualization infrastructure in line with LKQ global and European standards.
- Monitoring infrastructure platforms, identifying issues, and resolving incidents or escalating where appropriate.
- Providing first and second-line support for server and virtualization-related incidents and service requests.
- Performing patching activities, backup checks, and supporting security and compliance initiatives.
- Maintaining accurate technical documentation and following change management processes.
- Supporting audit, compliance, and reporting activities.
- Assisting with infrastructure builds, implementations, and operational readiness for new services.
- Collaborating with infrastructure, delivery, and implementation teams across Europe.
- Participating in a paid out-of-hours on-call rotation to support business continuity.
- Contributing to a collaborative team environment and a culture of continuous learning.

Skills and Experience
We’re looking for someone with experience in IT infrastructure support or systems administration who is eager to develop their technical skills within a large-scale enterprise environment.
You’ll ideally have experience with:
- Windows Server and/or Linux administration (Red Hat experience is advantageous).
- Server infrastructure and virtualization technologies including VMware and Hyper-V.
- Microsoft Active Directory administration.
- Server hardware and backup solutions.
- IT service management and ticketing processes.
- Infrastructure monitoring tools such as PRTG.
It would also be beneficial if you have exposure to:
- DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
- Certificate management.
- Disaster recovery (DR) concepts and testing.
- Cloud technologies and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Hyperconverged infrastructure platforms.
