Summary
Seeking an IT Infrastructure & Operations Engineer to lead projects and provide expert support in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
The Role
The IT infrastructure and operations (I&O) function is responsible for the delivery of all IT infrastructure and related IT operations used to enable business capabilities and services across the business.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and assess third line calls to ensure that the infrastructure team meet their operational level agreement with the IS service desk
- Support and maintain core infrastructure
- Approximately 70% Project work 30% BAU support
- Take part in the IT on call Rota for 3rd line support 5:00pm – 6:00am
- Resolve complex technical faults maximizing the use of any resource available
- Successfully deliver infrastructure projects
- Support the implementation of the business goal by delivering all ICT initiatives to deliver the business strategy
- Develop your expertise in ICT technologies and the business environment to ensure that you are aware of the businesses demands and how IT support them
- Engage with other members of the team in order to enhance their overall understanding of IT and business activities, and improve the operational efficiencies in these areas
- Check all daily, weekly and monthly infrastructure tasks including daily system checks, Backups, licensing and cyber security checks
- Visit remote sites when required, which may involve overnight stays
- Carry out any other IT support and implementation duties as directed by the IT Infrastructure & Operations Manager

The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience of working in a 3rd line IT support position (essential)
- Working experience of Windows Server, Windows Desktop
- Azure, Office 365 and Virtualization experience (VMware or Hyper-V)
- Veeam, Barracuda, SolarWinds, Ivanti, CyberArk, SIEM, Cylance
- Network skills based on Cisco, Meraki and or HP, Wi-Fi LAN and WAN
- Quality and detail focused
- Strong analytical skills combined with effective problem-solving skills and ability to influence solutions
- Determined and resilient, with the drive to complete tasks
- Effective planning and organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Team focused
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain strong working relationships at all levels
- Good numerical skills
- Must be able to commit to call out services when needed
- Due to call out the candidate must be located in an area that is no more than a 1 hour drive from the site
