This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering leader who enjoys combining strategic direction with operational delivery, while developing high-performing technical teams and driving modernisation across platforms, infrastructure, networks and Site Reliability Engineering.
The successful candidate will have genuine scope to influence the future technology landscape, introduce modern engineering practices and improve the reliability, resilience and efficiency of critical digital services.
The Role
As Senior Engineering Manager, you’ll bring together leadership across Platform Engineering, Infrastructure, Networks and SRE, creating a joined-up strategy for the organisation's digital infrastructure.
You’ll be responsible for setting the technical direction, developing engineering capability and ensuring the underlying platforms are secure, resilient, scalable and fit for the future.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
