The Programme and Project Management team sits within Softcat's Services - Delivery function and engages in customer facing programmes and projects. You will be working closely with all roles within the team, as well as with Professional Services, Solutions Design, Resource Desk and Account Management.
As a Project Manager, you'll be managing significant infrastructure and services projects for Softcat's customers using the PRINCE2 methodology. This role will involve both public and private sector customers and may require travel between your Softcat base location and client sites. You will be responsible for managing multiple projects and keeping all project stakeholders updated throughout the project lifecycle. The ability to work under pressure and solve problems in a pragmatic manner is essential.
You'll manage the development and delivery of the solution to meet the customer's business needs, working with multiple services teams, aligning the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality. You'll work both individually as well as alongside project managers and project coordinators to lead and support projects of varying size and complexity.

As Project Manager, you'll be responsible for:
- Managing a portfolio of infrastructure and managed services projects for public and private sector customers, applying PRINCE2 methodology across the full project lifecycle
- Delivering solutions that meet the customer's business needs within agreed parameters of cost, timescale and quality
- Coordinating multiple internal services teams, remote technical resources and third-party vendors and distributors, aligning the right skills to each project
- Keeping all project stakeholders informed and engaged throughout delivery, working directly with customers on site and from your Softcat base
- Leading projects independently while supporting fellow project managers and coordinators on work of varying size and complexity, solving problems pragmatically under pressure
We'd love you to have
- You'll have a demonstrable background in managing customer infrastructure or managed service-based projects, ideally within a comparable organisation, ranging in size and complexity
- Significant experience managing client facing infrastructure projects
- Prince2 Practitioner qualified or proven track record of delivering projects to equivalent methodologies
- Excellent project management skills
- You'll enjoy working collaboratively, have an open-minded approach, a focus on excellence and thrive in a genuinely people centric company
- A strong understanding of the IT industry is essential
