Description
Are you an experienced IT leader who thrives on delivering exceptional IT services, leading high-performing teams and driving technology change?
We're looking for an IT Manager to join the Convey Group IT team. Reporting directly to the Group IT Director, you'll play a key role in supporting the technology operations of Convey Law, while also contributing to strategic projects, infrastructure, security and service delivery initiatives across the wider Group, including Convey365, our sister Company who lead technology solutions that support our legal professionals.
You'll help ensure the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure, strengthen cyber security, lead technical and business projects, and support the continued growth and success of our businesses.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys combining hands-on technical leadership with strategic thinking, stakeholder management and continuous improvement within a growing technology-driven organisation.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & Service Delivery
- Lead and develop a busy IT Support team.
- Ensure high-quality service delivery and efficient resolution of technical issues.
- Manage escalated, complex, and high-priority incidents through to resolution.
- Analyse service desk trends and implement long-term improvements.
- Drive service standards, performance metrics, and operational excellence.
Cyber Security & Compliance
- Own and manage the organisation's Information Security Management System (ISMS).
- Lead and maintain ISO 27001 compliance and audit readiness.
- Oversee Cyber Essentials Plus certification.
- Manage information security policies, security awareness programmes, risk registers, and audit actions.
- Support incident response and business continuity planning.
- Act as Data Protection Officer (DPO) for Convey365.

Leadership & Team Development
- Manage, mentor, and develop IT Support team members.
- Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and development planning.
- Oversee team workload, wellbeing, resourcing, holidays, and absence management.
- Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture.
Supplier & Asset Management
- Manage IT suppliers, contracts, renewals, and costs.
- Oversee IT asset lifecycle management.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, services, and processes.
Technology & Business Collaboration
- Act as the central point of coordination between IT, software development teams, third-party suppliers, and business stakeholders.
- Ensure business requirements are translated into effective technical priorities.
- Maintain visibility and ownership of live system issues and resolutions.
Project & Change Management
- Lead technology projects from planning through to successful delivery.
- Manage project risks, timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder communications.
- Ensure documentation, user guidance, policies, and training materials remain current following system changes.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an IT management or senior IT leadership role.
- Experience leading and owning ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus.
- Experience managing a busy IT Service Desk and high-ticket volumes.
- Proven people management and team leadership experience.
- Strong experience managing IT suppliers, contracts, and budgets.
- Successful delivery of IT projects from both technical and operational perspectives.
- Experience managing complex technical incidents across multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Technical Expertise
- Microsoft 365, Intune, and Windows technologies.
