When technology works properly, people can focus on doing their jobs rather than fighting with systems, devices and connectivity issues. As the IT Manager, you'll take ownership of the technology behind a busy, growing business, becoming the internal technical lead who keeps everything running while driving practical improvements.
This isn't a people management position. You'll be the hands-on technical expert, trusted to work independently across infrastructure, Microsoft 365, networks, security and support, while also delivering upgrades and helping with technology installations at client sites.
What's in it for you
- Take genuine ownership of the internal technology environment, with the freedom to identify problems and implement lasting solutions.
- Become the go-to technical expert within a growing business where your work will have a visible day-to-day impact.
- Enjoy a varied position covering infrastructure, networking, Microsoft 365, security, support and improvement projects.
- Work with modern technology, including Ubiquiti networking equipment and Microsoft 365.
- Lead upgrades, migrations and improvements rather than spending your time purely reacting to support requests.
- Gain exposure to client installations alongside your internal responsibilities, giving you variety beyond an office-only technical support position.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
