IT Manager

Location: Mansfield, Nottinghamshire
Working pattern: Full-time
Salary: Flexible depending on experience

We are delighted to be working exclusively with an established and successful manufacturing business to find its next IT Manager.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and joining the Senior Management Team, you will take ownership of technology across a UK manufacturing business employing approximately 300 people across multiple sites.

This is a broad role covering technology strategy, infrastructure, cybersecurity, business systems, bespoke software development and IT service delivery. You will lead an internal team of six and manage additional support from external infrastructure and software development partners.

The business develops many of its critical applications internally using Microsoft and.NET technologies, giving you the opportunity to shape both its technology function and future systems roadmap.

Technology is valued by the leadership team, with support for sensible investment that improves performance, security or efficiency.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Setting the technology strategy, priorities and roadmap
  • Leading and developing the internal IT team
  • Managing infrastructure, support, cybersecurity and business continuity
  • Overseeing business-critical.NET applications and software development
  • Leading technology projects and business system improvements
  • Advising senior leaders on technology, risk and investment
  • Managing suppliers, external partners, contracts and licences
  • Improving processes, governance and service delivery across IT

Technology Environment

  • Microsoft servers and predominantly on-premises infrastructure
  • Microsoft and .NET business applications
  • Azure DevOps
  • Sage 200
  • CrowdStrike MDR
  • SQL applications, API integrations and Monday.com
  • Future application modernisation and cloud adoption

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience leading and developing an IT team
  • Broad knowledge of infrastructure, applications and service delivery
  • Strong business systems or software applications experience
  • A good understanding of cybersecurity, resilience and risk
  • Experience delivering technology projects and business change
  • Confidence advising senior leaders and managing external partners
  • A practical, commercially aware and people-focused leadership style

Experience overseeing bespoke Microsoft or.NET software development would be valuable but is not essential. Manufacturing or experience in a similar complex business would also be beneficial, although the priority is finding a passionate technology leader who wants to develop a team and help the business succeed.
