IT Director

Hybrid - 3 days every week in the Reading Area office

Why? Growing SaaS Vendor

Start date - must have a 2 month notice or less

Location - must live within 1 hour commute

A growing SaaS Vendor is looking for an IT Manager who will be responsible for the execution of transformational internal IT projects/systems, the performance of technology/infrastructure, and a small team. This is a hands-on delivery focused technical leadership role where you will affect change from day 1, make sure all systems enable growth, manage external relationships, and propel the function forward. This is a great role for someone who understands how to deliver strategic technical projects, how to keep systems running and integrated whilst being able to provide mentoring and leadership to people and teams.

IT Manager - Responsibilities

  • Execute transformational technical change projects and initiatives
  • Manage internal business systems (CRM, Finance, Telephony, etc.) and act as escalation point when issues arise
  • Enable change and technology to support business growth and expansion
  • Manage small team of direct reports (1st / 2nd line support) and improve customer focus of help desk and create efficiencies where possible
  • Oversee the stability and security of the IT Infrastructure and internal systems estate (servers, networks, cloud, etc.)
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors, MSP's and partners; track SLA's
  • Manage information security controls and oversee access rights ensuring team complies with all procedures and standards

IT Manager - Requirements

  • Recent experience of delivery or execution transformational technical projects
  • Experience affecting change and enabling growth in the wider business
  • Experience in leadership, team lead, or senior technical capacity
  • Hands-on experience in IT operations/infrastructure roles
  • Experience improving help desk / service desk i.e. use of AI/innovation, streamline processes, improve customer focus
  • Experience in a fast paced growing SME business, ideally invested in Tech company
  • Experience managing infrastructure, security, and integrations in a business with multiple internal systems
  • Comfortable operating in an SME where you will wear many hats i.e. PE backed start-up or scale up with c 150-400 employees
  • Experience managing external vendors, MSPs, or technology partners
  • Clear communicator able to explain technical risk to a non-technical leadership team
  • Energy, passionate, and ability to move the business forward
