Role Description
The IT Network and Cabling Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Wirral, responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure and cabling for business clients. Day-to-day duties include:

- Planning and deploying structured cabling
- Setting up switches, routers, and wireless solutions
- Ensuring network connectivity and performance across customer sites
- Diagnosing and resolving network issues
- Performing routine maintenance
- Implementing best practices for network security and reliability

The role involves collaborating closely with other technical team members, documenting installations and changes, and providing clear communication and support to customers during projects and service visits. The position requires frequent on-site work at client premises and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Network Administration and Network Engineering to design, implement, and manage business networks.
- Experience with Network Security practices to protect infrastructures, including firewalls, VPNs, and secure configurations.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting and Information Technology to diagnose issues, resolve incidents, and support end users.
- Hands-on experience with structured cabling, including copper and fiber installations, patch panels, and cable management.
- Knowledge of common networking hardware, operating systems, and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, Wi-Fi solutions).
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, cabling or fiber certifications) are highly beneficial.
- Ability to work safely on-site, including basic understanding of health and safety practices and use of tools and test equipment.
- Effective communication, documentation, and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients.
