Summary
Office based with local travel between sites as required
- 3 days at Denbighshire sites / 2 Days Flintshire
- Some out of hours work to co-ordinate infrastructure upgrades
- 33 days holiday per year
About the Company
We have been manufacturing in North Wales for nearly 66 years and although all trailers have either 4 or 6 wheels, they are all different and they are all purchased by distinctly different buyer groups. The company’s philosophy is to design and manufacture trailers of the highest quality that combine the latest technology with strength, durability, ease of maintenance and value for money.
About the Role
We are looking to recruit an energetic, focused and dedicated IT Operations Manager to manage, maintain and enhance the full IT operation across our multiple sites. This is a full time, in person role, that is set within a very busy manufacturing and logistic environment.
Responsibilities
- Team Management & IT Operations: Lead and manage the IT team to deliver reliable, stable, and enabling IT services. Ensure system uptime through proactive maintenance and support operational continuity and efficiency across the organisation.
- IT Service Delivery: Ensure IT services are managed to provide comprehensive end user support, so users receive prompt and accurate ticket resolutions.
- IT Infrastructure Development: Collaborate closely with the Senior Management Team, Operational Leads, and Key Stakeholders to develop and continuously improve the IT infrastructure. Enhance the organisation’s operational capabilities through strategic and technical input.
- Cyber Security: Emphasise cyber security and user safety throughout every part of IT operations, consistently applying best practices to safeguard business information and infrastructure. Stay current with emerging risks by monitoring evolving cyber threats, while proactively taking ownership of identifying and strengthening cyber controls within the business.
- Operational Alignment & Continuous Improvement: Maintain a deep understanding of operational processes and requirements within the business. Regularly evaluate the effectiveness and suitability of IT systems, swiftly identifying risks, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement. Drive well-managed, efficient change programmes to deliver IT enhancements and infrastructure upgrades.
- Data & Reporting Enhancement: Partner with operational leaders to develop and optimise reporting, supporting data-driven decision-making and performance improvement.
- Systems Development: Collaborate with internal and external teams to drive digital transformation.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Oversee key supplier partnerships to ensure cost-effective, well-managed solutions.
- Project Delivery & Strategic Implementation: Lead the delivery of business critical and strategic IT projects. Effectively manage projects end-to-end, including stakeholder engagement, procurement, implementation, and change management–ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Qualifications
A key specification and requirement with this role is trust, integrity and communication.
- Attention to detail, project management and translation of user/operational requirements into robust IT systems improvements.
- Strong understanding of a range of business operational activities and processes.
- Ability to manage and communicate effectively to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex projects whilst prioritising where required.
- Advanced skills across full Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to cover business analyst skills such as process mapping/modelling, interviewing techniques and workshop management.
- Documentation and report writing ability.
- Ability to ensure deadlines, ROI, budgeting and project scope is adhered to throughout each process/stage.
- Excellent attention to detail.
Required Skills
- Infrastructure & Networking: Deep understanding of networking technologies including wired and wireless networks, switches, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPNs. Experienced with FortiGate firewalls and other leading networking brands.
- XDR & EDR Solutions: SEIM & Log collection systems. Able to Support Operational Technology (bespoke manufacturing technology) in a busy manufacturing environment. Proficient in managing and troubleshooting complex network environments.
- Systems & Platforms: Strong expertise in Microsoft technologies including: Entra, Intune, SharePoint & Azure. On premises Active Directory administration. Windows 11 & Windows Server Operating systems. Endpoint Management (Windows, Mac, Android). Experienced in VMWare ESXi virtualisation platforms. Experience supporting ERP and manufacturing-related systems. Skilled in supporting remote desktop services and Arc-enabled servers.
- Vulnerability Management Platforms: Experience of Cyber Essentials+ Accreditation & NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework.
- Business Systems & Development: Implementing ITIL aligned change Governance across Infrastructure, Security & development Teams. Proficient in ERP and Warehouse Management Systems integration and support. Familiar with Microsoft SQL Server, Exchange, and Intune. Basic experience with VB and SQL scripting (considered an advantage). Oversee business systems operations and schedule upgrades in advance of end-of-life dates.

Preferred Skills
Certifications / Qualifications (desirable): CompTIA Security+ or Network+, ITIL v4 (Service Management), Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Azure (AZ-900, AZ-104).
