About the role
We’re looking for an IT Operations Specialist to join Superscript on a 6 month fixed-term contract to take ownership of the day-to-day operation, reliability and continuous improvement of our IT environment.
This is a hands-on role sitting between traditional IT support and IT operations. You’ll help ensure our people have the technology, systems, access and infrastructure they need to do their jobs effectively, while also taking responsibility for the underlying operational processes that keep our IT environment secure, compliant and well maintained.
You’ll work closely with colleagues across Technology, People, Compliance and the wider business, supporting our London, Glasgow and Rotterdam teams and our hybrid workforce.
The role will suit someone who enjoys being both hands-on and proactive, solving problems when they arise, but also looking for ways to prevent them happening in the first place.
What you'll get up to:
- Manage and maintain company Mac devices throughout their lifecycle, from deployment through to repair, replacement and disposal.
- Manage Mac endpoint configuration ensuring devices remain appropriately configured and compliant.
- Manage Apple Business Manager enrolment and device assignment.
- Maintain accurate IT asset and device inventories.
- Support device patching, operating system compliance and endpoint security requirements.
- Maintain appropriate levels of IT equipment, peripherals and replacement devices.
- Support damaged, lost or stolen device processes.
- Coordinate device returns and ensure devices are securely wiped before reassignment or disposal.
- Support the ongoing improvement of our endpoint management and device lifecycle processes.
- Manage and maintain appropriate user access across core systems and applications.
- Support SSO, SAML and identity integrations where appropriate.
- Support MFA standards and authentication controls.
- Maintain secure emergency / break-glass administrator access.
- Carry out periodic user access reviews and help ensure access remains appropriate as people move roles or leave the business.
- Support IT security incidents and coordinate the technical response where required.
- Support phishing protection, email security and security awareness activity.
- Triage and respond to technical security issues raised by colleagues.
- Support the business in maintaining appropriate security controls across its IT environment.
- Administer and maintain office networking, Wi-Fi and UniFi infrastructure.
- Manage ISP and connectivity suppliers and escalate issues where required.
- Monitor IT systems, alerts and operational dashboards to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Support connectivity across our London, Glasgow, Rotterdam and wider hybrid workforce.
- Help maintain reliable and secure meeting-room technology and room-resource integrations.
- Provide escalation support for more complex IT issues beyond first-line troubleshooting.
- Investigate recurring technical issues and identify opportunities for permanent fixes.
- Work with external vendors and support providers to resolve technical problems.
- Provide technical support for business-critical issues when required.
- Help maintain clear ownership of IT systems, services and suppliers.
- Provide practical guidance to colleagues on the use of company technology and systems.
- Ensure IT issues are documented and appropriately tracked through to resolution.
- Support and, where appropriate, lead IT projects, migrations and platform changes.
- Help introduce new technology and improve existing systems and processes.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and improve IT operations.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to understand requirements and deliver practical technology solutions.
- Provide IT operational reporting and updates to management.
- Maintain clear technical documentation and ensure operational knowledge is not dependent on individual team members.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
