What We Are Looking For
Rheinmetall Electronics UK Ltd (REUK) is a defence supplier with an international customer base.
The company is building upon the commercial success achieved to date and now needs to appoint an experienced person into the role of IT Operations Support.
Working as part of the REUK team and reporting to the Head of IT. Acting as REUK’s primary point of contact within our Bristol office, this role will be responsible for all face-to-face 1st/2nd line support requirements, undertaking IT Inductions for new starters, and providing new client machines and peripherals.
We are seeking candidates with demonstrable experience in providing a range of abilities, including 1st/2nd line support, working in a busy environment, with Microsoft clients. The ability to work on your own initiative will be key.
The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar role or with Windows Clients, Windows Servers, and Microsoft Office applications, with the following being desirable: MS365 administration (including SharePoint & Teams), Atlassian Confluence, Jira, and SAP B1. This role will be vital in representing REUK’s IT operation at Bristol.
REUK is also a wholly owned subsidiary of the Rheinmetall Group and is called upon to offer in-house expertise and comment on Division or even Group-level IT and communications topics, from a UK perspective.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Provision of day-to-day IT support within the Bristol office
- Taking all 1st/2nd line actions/activities that require face-to-face interaction for the Bristol office.
- Ensuring tickets are responded to in a timely manner.
- Keep the local area network operating as expected.
- Monitoring IT assets and reporting requirements back to REUK, such as additional client machines and peripherals required, keeping an accurate stock recording.

Client machines support
-
Configuring new prebuilt (OTS/COTS) laptops & desktops for new starters/upgrades.

Resolving issues with applications such as, Microsoft Office (MS365).

Set up new printers and other client peripherals as required.

Auditing, Reporting, Compliance

Assisting in the provision of any staff on-site training, such as Cyber Security.

Ensuring all members of staff within the Bristol office are adhering to REUK’s IT policies & procedures.

Reporting/assisting with Cyber related activities in coordination with REUK’s Cyber Security Officer.

Assisting with cyber-attack simulations.
What Qualifications You Should Have
- Must have experience in providing IT support to Windows clients.
- Must have a reasonable level of experience with Microsoft Windows Server with Hyper-V.
- Proven experience providing support for Microsoft Office (ideally MS365).
- Setup, configuration (including Domain joining) of Windows clients.
- Experience of working within a secure environment with a minimum of Cyber Essentials Plus.
- Good analytical skills: forming decisions based on widespread, fragmented or uncertain
- Excellent interpersonal skills; confident in dealing with business contacts over phone, video conference and email.
