Skills
Our IT & OT Graduate Programme is designed for graduates who want to develop specialist expertise while making a real impact from day one. Over two years, you'll gain hands-on experience, work on meaningful projects and build the skills needed for a long-term career in IT. You'll join a specialist pathway and develop expertise in one of the following areas:
- AI, Data & Digital
- Cyber Security
- IT & Operational Technology
- Automation, Analytics & Data Governance
Alongside real project experience, you'll benefit from mentoring, structured development opportunities and support from experienced colleagues across SSE.
Following successful completion of the programme, you'll have the opportunity to progress into a permanent specialist role, helping to develop and deliver the technology solutions that support SSE's business and future ambitions. Recent graduate destinations have included specialist roles in AI, digital, cyber defence, operational technology, analytics and IT/OT engineering.

What We're Looking For
You'll have a minimum of a 2:2 honours degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or another relevant STEM-related discipline.

SSE is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role as it does not currently meet the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) eligibility requirements for Skilled Worker sponsorship. To be eligible for this role, candidates must therefore have the legal right to work full time in the UK for the duration of the Graduate Programme from September 2027 to September 2029 and beyond, without requiring sponsorship from SSE.
