Location: Corsham, Wiltshire – Hybrid working

Salary: Up to £70,000

Benefits: Tax-free annual bonus, private healthcare and excellent company benefits

You must hold a minimum of active SC Clearance and be willing and eligible to undergo DV Clearance.

NexGen Associates is recruiting an experienced Programme Manager to join a growing consultancy delivering strategic Defence IT programmes across the UK Ministry of Defence. This is a senior, strategically focused role requiring a strong understanding of the MOD approvals and requirements process, particularly the development, scrutiny and approval of business cases for complex IT, digital and technology-enabled programmes.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior MOD, military and industry stakeholders, providing strategic programme leadership and ensuring operational and technical requirements are translated into commercially viable, evidence-based business cases and deliverable programme plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and delivery of strategically important Defence IT programmes.
  • Develop, review and progress business cases through relevant MOD approval and assurance processes.
  • Translate strategic objectives, operational needs and technical requirements into clear and achievable programme plans.
  • Work with technical specialists to ensure IT solutions align with MOD operational requirements and strategic priorities.
  • Engage confidently with senior MOD, military, commercial, technical and industry stakeholders.
  • Provide clear advice, briefings and recommendations to senior decision-makers.
  • Ensure business cases demonstrate value for money, affordability, deliverability and strategic alignment.
  • Work across commercial, finance, delivery, operational and technical teams to develop well-evidenced investment proposals.
  • Manage programme governance, dependencies, risks, issues, budgets and reporting.
  • Support commercial planning, procurement activity, supplier engagement and technology investment decisions.
  • Challenge assumptions and identify opportunities to improve programme outcomes, delivery performance and operational capability.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
