IT Project Manager - Oxford

My client based in Oxford is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to join their growing technology team, playing a key role in delivering business-critical IT infrastructure and systems projects within an innovative, fast-paced environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with technical teams to drive projects from concept through to successful delivery, ensuring infrastructure and platform initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard.

The Role

Working alongside senior IT leadership and infrastructure engineers, you'll take ownership of coordinating and delivering a portfolio of IT infrastructure and technical projects. You'll provide structure, visibility and governance across multiple workstreams while ensuring risks, dependencies and priorities are effectively managed.

This is a hands-on project delivery role rather than a people management position, making it ideal for someone who thrives on organising complex technical initiatives and enabling engineering teams to perform at their best.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and delivery of IT infrastructure and technical projects.
  • Develop detailed project plans, defining objectives, milestones, owners, timelines, risks and dependencies.
  • Coordinate work across infrastructure, systems, platforms and internal technology services.
  • Monitor project progress, identifying risks, blockers and issues before they impact delivery.
  • Produce clear reporting for senior stakeholders, providing updates on progress, priorities and key decisions.
  • Ensure projects are fully documented and successfully transitioned into operational support.
  • Help establish and maintain project management standards, documentation and governance across the IT function.
  • Work collaboratively with infrastructure engineers, security, operations and wider business teams to deliver successful outcomes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
