IT Project Manager

Day Rate: £875 via Rockford Payroll
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 6 months
Location: London, 5 days a week

Role Summary

The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for leading complex, high-risk technology projects that support business objectives and digital transformation goals. The role requires strong delivery leadership, disciplined governance, financial control, and the ability to manage senior stakeholders, suppliers, risks, and dependencies across the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end project leadership: Lead technology projects from initiation through delivery, transition, and closure, ensuring outcomes are delivered to scope, time, cost, and quality.
  • Delivery planning, governance and financial control: Develop and maintain robust delivery plans, governance structures, RAID controls, and budget tracking/forecasting.
  • Risk, scope and change management: Proactively manage project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, scope changes, and decision-making processes.
  • Stakeholder management and executive reporting: Engage and influence senior business and technology stakeholders, providing clear, timely, and accurate reporting to executive audiences.
  • Supplier and dependency management: Coordinate internal and external suppliers, manage cross-functional dependencies, and ensure alignment to delivery milestones.
  • Operational readiness, service transition and benefits realisation: Ensure solutions are operationally ready, transitioned effectively into service, and positioned to realise intended business benefits.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale technology projects.
  • Strong background in programme governance and planning.
  • Demonstrable experience with budget ownership and forecasting.
  • Experience working across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Strong track record of executive stakeholder management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, MSP, or PgMP certification.
  • Experience working in global organisations.
  • Experience in energy, financial services, or other heavily regulated industries.

  • Equivalent Annum Salary: £175,575.61
